It was very interesting to host M/S Ruth Steimann (the tourism senior expert from Germany) to Divine Mercy Primary School Kyanjuki on the 22nd April, 2021. She was given a worm welcome by the Director, Headteacher, staff and pupils. She was entertained through songs of joy, dance and rhymes. Thereafter, the speaches by the Headteacher, the Director and finally Ruth Steimann who also introduced her self to the staff and pupils. She told them the pupose of her visit in the region was to work with the Rwenzori Community Vision for Development (RWECO-VIDE) to promote Community tourism as the new project. Ruth thanked the management of the school for the work done and more especially for supporting education of orphans and vulnerable children.

The Director of the school Mr. Ndumbuko Zephania, in his speach requested Ruth to link the school with schools in Germany that have similar aims and objectives to share experiences, ideas, challenges and exchange visits at a time, if possible.

Divine Mercy Primary School Kyanjuki was established in February, 2017 by Divine Mercy Foundation Uganda. It was establised to offer quality but affordable basic education to both orphans and non orphans from the poor families in the region, so that these children could compete favourably at National level during Primary Leaving Examination.

Personal comment from Ruth: Hi there, My name is Ruth (the above mentioned) and I just showed my colleagues how to set up a blog and use it to create publicity for the great work of the community based organisation RWECO-VIDE. It is now almost 20 years that the organisation started and initiated various activities to improve the living conditions in their community. The work they are doing is incredible and I am very honoured working together with such dedicated colleagues. I hope I can be of help in launching their latest idea, namely a community based tourism project.
